Teaching a second language in Montessori schools is a long-standing and complex matter; traces of Montessori’s thinking can be found even though there isn’t any specific speech, lecture or writing on the subject, since during those years foreign languages were nearly missing or even excluded from national teaching programs. The absence of precise guidelines led to the development of extremely varied approaches regarding second languages in Montessori schools. This book offers a unified method, rigorously based on Maria Montessori’s linguistic studies, combined with the extensive experience of the authors. This book proves to be a precious support for L2 teachers, also in non-montessorian contexts.
