L’Unione europea tra pandemia, nuove crisi e prospettive future

by Denise Milizia , Alida Maria Silletti
L’Unione europea tra pandemia, nuove crisi e prospettive future

The European Union between the pandemic, new crisis and future perspectives, with the contributions that make it up, aims at illustrating the multiples crises that the European Union and some of its Member States are facing, in relation to some global issues analyzed by both European countries, such as France and the UK, and non-European countries, such as the US and Australia: the war in Ukraine, global warming, democratic representation, Brexit, the COVID-19 pandemic. This volume is an investigation of the consequences that such crises have triggered at the institutional, identity, social and economic level, embracing different fields and different approaches. The contributions in this miscellaneous book relate to European and International Law, to Linguistics as discourse analysis and Corpus Linguistics, both English and French, to political science and sociology, relying on institutional and political-institutional communication. The interview that opens the book, carried out by the two Editors of the current volume, highlights the central and prominent role that the European Union plays also in a British citizen like Stanley Johnson, member of the Conservative party and yet a fervent defender of European integration. This multi-faceted panorama is evidence of the multidisciplinary soul of the Department of Political Science of the University of Bari Aldo Moro and of the members within it, both tenured and visiting professors.
