L’oro è giallo

The protagonist of this novel often wakes up at night to pee, is terrified of public toilets, is afraid of not being able to hold it when travelling and always, always, traces urination depicted everywhere, in art galleries as well as in contemporary art magazines or at the cinema. Like the Inuit, she believes that the bladder is the seat of the soul. And it is precisely there that she will find the reasons for her restrained happiness, for her suspended pleasure. Irreverent and contemporary, the story told here – interspersed with digressions in which the author amuses us with an anthology of scenarios in which the bladder is the protagonist, even if we often don’t realise it – is a hymn to liberation, in social relationships as well as in the relationship with one’s own body.
