London voodoo
by Tosco Orso
An absurd, senseless series of attacks and murders darkens London. Neither foreign secret service nor terrorists are the perpetrators, but normal people who suddenly do things of an unprecedented and inexplicable violence. Air is toxic, threatening, charged with anger. The country is in chaos. Prime Minister creates a new special police, the Section, to whom he gives full powers. Eva B, the woman who runs it, instructs two of her best men to conduct investigations: the Pig and Dennis Tabbot. They are very particular police officers: enormous, unusually agile, completely insensitive to pain, devoid of any morality and very skilled torturers. And, above all, they are expert in a dirty and fierce magic power, the urban voodoo. It is expected that they will stop this long trail of blood. But every effort seems to be undermined against a multiform and invisible enemy, always one step ahead. It is not sufficient to connect the dots on the map, you have to understand who has drawn it, before UK will go on fire like the rest of Europe. By combining horror, grotesque and surreal elements, Orso Tosco wrote an acid and powerful noir, full of New Weird themes, where the line between reality and fantasy definitely falls apart. Where deformation and hallucination seem to be the only possible ways to narrate the exasperated and devastated reality in which we are used to live.
