La scimmia che si era persa

by Luca Tortolini
La scimmia che si era persa

The whole town is buzzing with excitement: tonight is the Great Monkey Show! Only… the monkey can’t be found! What happened to it? While everyone is looking for it, only the reader knows where it is – and he also knows why it disappeared. And along with him, only a very patient little girl will have the satisfaction of meeting her, and witnessing her big show.
The Monkey who was lost is a book that creates a great complicity with the reader, right from the first pages: while Luca Tortolini’s text asks where the monkey is and searches for him everywhere, the images tell the secret of the elusive protagonist: the monkey is in love! And aren’t we all a bit careless when it comes to love?
The others just have to be patient, like the little girl in the book, who waits with confidence and is rewarded.
Simone Rea’s illustrations create a fantastic world, rarefied yet warm and vital, that children will never tire of looking at, to discover new details each time.

A book that plays with the reader’s complicity and rewards the patience of all children!
