Mariolino Migliaccio is just over thirty years old and penniless. A great lover of American cinema, he is a private detective and, without a licence or an office, receives clients in a bar in the carruggi. Since his mother – who was a prostitute – was killed by a client, Mariolino has lost everything except his infallible nose. He knows every corner of Genoa and knows how to rummage in the right places to uncover the city’s secrets. It is no coincidence that Luigi il Vecchio, a boss who runs a brothel disguised as a wellness centre, has hired him to look for Liveta, one of ‘his girls’ who has disappeared who knows where. When Mariolino realises that he has not been hired to look for her but to solve a much bigger problem of the criminal organisation, it will be too late to back out.
