Beltrame Alessandra

A journalist quits her job to become the master of her own time and starts walking. An inner journey, a path of slow exploration on foot. An intimate and painful road to freedom.
An intense book with a determined and courageous protagonist who discovers herself to be fragile.
You have never been as alone as you are now. You have no husband, no child, no close friend, no partner to share a life with. You have had no parents for more than ten years. So you leave, you set out. And you remember. The footsteps are like chimes, you tread the earth of your fathers and it is as if you resuscitate them. Thus begins a hard journey in the company of your demons. You are a tormented child, an unhappy teenager, a girl traversed by suffering and pain. You have a career, you are successful, yet you are sick, you meet death and cannot look it in the eye, you could give your life and you choose not to. You quit your job, you abandon your home and you leave. And today, when you are on the road and you feel for the first time the weight of the loneliness that has accompanied you all your life, you decide to face it, to understand why you want it, seek it, desire it so ardently. Against everything and everyone.
