Il segreto di Lübeck
by Sinesi Sergio
A police commissioner, busy with the murders involving local prostitutes, is involved by Georg Bauer, a former German entrepreneur who is blind due to Nazi delirium, in the investigation of as many killings of some scientists, which took place in Europe. Bauer argues that there is a link between the latest crimes and those documented at the time of J.S. Bach. Proof of this is the letter, in his possession, that the cellist J.M. Lübeck wrote 1791, recounting his life on the run following the violent death of his closest friend, which he witnessed. The assassination and the others that followed during its existence, Lübeck reported in the letter, were also signed with the consecutive number of the Goldberg Variations by J.S. Bach; Bauer, inspired by that letter of 1791, argues that a serial killer of current times emulates that one because of the signature left on the victims.
