Week of the Italian Language in the World

The Week of the Italian Language in the World is held every year in the third week of October. Organised by the diplomatic-consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes, the Week is the most important event in the world dedicated to the Italian language. Since its inception in 2001, this event has received the High Patronage of the Presidency of the Republic. Each year the Week is dedicated to a different theme, which serves as a leitmotif for a rich programme of conferences, exhibitions and meetings.
The XXIV edition (14-20 October 2024) has as its theme “Italian and the Book: the world between the lines ’ and aims to explore the connection between language and literature in the contemporary world, highlighting the role of the book as a vehicle for Italy’s cultural heritage.
