De Havilland Vampire in italian service

Grâce à ces avions, l’Italie est entrée dans l’ère du jet. Le De Havilland DH.100 Vampire fut en effet le deuxième chasseur à réaction utilisé en service en Grande-Bretagne et en même temps le premier avion à réaction monomoteur de ce type produit en série au Royaume-Uni. Son succès international fut tel que l’Italie le construisit également sous licence et son utilisation marqua la renaissance italienne d’après-guerre, de 1948 à 1950, tant de l’industrie nationale que de l’A.M.I., pour laquelle l’avion fut le premier chasseur à réaction. Maurizio Di Terlizzi was born in 1968 in Rome. He has always been keen of flying and Aviation and holds the rank of Warrant Officer of Italian CustomPolice, as an helicopter instructor crew chief at the Flight Line of theTraining, Studies and Aerial Standardization at Pratica di Mare AB (Rome). A painstaking modeller, he still takes part at International Competitions both as a competitor than as a judge. He won in three occasions the Gold Medal in the Championship of Paris and Telford.
