1985. Today is Michele Rio’s birthday, he’s 16 now, and his parents are waiting for him at home for a little family party. His mother sings, as usual, Happy Birthday to you with her lovely voice. This will be the last time Michele will see his mother alive. The day after, her body will be found dead in a service station near Geneva, 450 km away from their house in Ravenna. Why did she travel so far? And who has tortured and killed her? There are no witnesses but Raul, the trucker who found the dead body of Michele’s mother. For the boy, this is the beginning of an on-the-road summer with Raul, who decides to help the boy in the quest for her mother’s killers. But this will be the summer of his first real love; the summer in which he will lose friends; the summer during which Michele will become an adult.
