È di scena la corte. Il rito processuale tra giustizia e drammaturgia

by Selva Nicolicchia, Pietra
È di scena la corte. Il rito processuale tra giustizia e drammaturgia

A unique theatrical experience that, while fully rooted in tradition, reinvents its mechanisms and dramaturgy through an original and captivating dialogue between the rigorous “form” of the current Italian criminal trial and the equally rigorous – and, for the author, essential – “form” of poetic theatrical writing. This writing seeks a balance capable of conveying the profound essence of both “forms.” This approach gives rise to the scripts presented in this volume, which place four controversial figures from ancient and modern history on trial: Brutus, Garibaldi, Kennedy, and Andreotti. These four plays are part of the acclaimed series Trials on Stage, launched in 2011 and produced by the association Il Libro Ritrovato and the theater company Viartisti Teatro, in collaboration with the Teatro Stabile di Torino. The experience is further explored here through contributions from scholars and theorists from both the theatrical and legal worlds, as well as from actor-witnesses who participated in these performances and the educational projects that emerged from them.
