Italian bookshops worldwide recommend… : La Libreria’s selection (Paris)

From 2025 onwards, newitalianbooks is asking Italian booksellers all over the world to highlight the titles most in demand among their readers. With this initiative, newitalianbooks wants to strengthen the role of Italian booksellers abroad in promoting Italian books worldwide.
This month our guest bookshop is La Libreria in Paris.
La Libreria was established in 2006, while the professional partnership between Florence Raut and Andrea De Ritis began three years later. Raut, an energetic Frenchwoman with a deep passion for Italian culture, had already spent several years in Rome, adopting the city as her own. The second, on the other hand, is a true Roman who has now been ‘naturalised’ as a Parisian. You only have to open the door of the Libreria to find yourself transported to a welcoming place where a bridge made of books allows us to travel between the two countries. There is a vast selection of classical and contemporary literature, in original or translated versions, as well as the latest releases and a large section devoted to the study of the Italian language.
La Libreria aims to be an active place through regular meetings, debates and workshops with Italian and French authors, as well as to pass on the owners’ passion for writing and literature. Its identity is very complete since it is by nature a neighbourhood bookshop, as well as a place of meeting and knowledge for anyone with a connection to Italy or who wishes to create one.
Regardless of age, interests and language level, Florence and Andrea will always be able to find the right book for you!
‘Italian bookshops worlwide recommend…’ is an initiative organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
