Colpo di ritorno. Un caso per Manrico Spinori
by De Cataldo Giancarlo
The murder of an embarrassing personality sows panic in the Rome that counts. The case must be solved without any discount but with tact, to avoid instrumentalisation. That old fox of the public prosecutor has no doubts: no one better than Manrico Spinori, a Capitoline aristocrat with a passion for opera, can succeed. The Magician Narouz, born Giuseppe Capomagli, is found dead in his house in Trastevere. The man sold love potions, winning numbers and advice to a select, loyal clientele of show business people and politicians. In charge of the investigation, Manrico Spinori has the impression that he is going around in circles, and sometimes even being manipulated. Then, just when the situation seems about to get out of hand, an unexpected suggestion allows him to pull the threads of the tangled skein. What remains a tangle, on the other hand, are the private lives of Manrico and the members of his team, entirely composed of women. Above all that of the inspector Deborah Cianchetti, an element with a bad temperament and yet very useful if, instead of charm and savoir-faire, more straightforward methods are required.
