A research started in 1980 and continued for several years in the desire to document all aspects of popular culture in Procida. The four parts that make up the volume (the religious and magical ceremonies, the oral narrative, the songs) are ways to keep a rich collective universe from disappearing, entrusting its memory to the written word. The investigation becomes memory, not abstractly evocative, but passionate custodian of the most fleeting traces of a past that is far from remote.
