Magnolia nera
by Santise Gianluca
The present of each of us is the result of a lived past, with its joys and its pains. But for Roberto, the past, found in the pages of an old diary, is the only hope of rebuilding his life, lost along with his memory on the carpet of a cottage in the London suburbs. The bewilderment and desperate search for his origins collides with the apparent normality of the people around him, and of a beautiful and mysterious woman who seems to be his lifeline. He has no references, no telephones or addresses, just an old diary, which he inexplicably finds in his hands and in which he had pinned his impressions, feelings and the people who mattered in his life ten years earlier. But how much is left of his past? How much is left of the man who wrote those pages? He can’t know, he has to trust, just as he has to rely on the woman who accompanies him and of whom he remembers nothing. Yet someone else is looking for him, another woman, from another part of the world.
