Chissene
by Carretti Luisa, Carretti Luisa, Carretti Luisa
Manuel is a lonely child with a great passion for skateboarding. Since his parents divorced, he has lived with his mother in a small town on the edge of a wood. He does not have many friends, his peers avoid him, so during summer holidays he wanders the empty and silent streets of his town with his skateboard, thinking of his father, a sea cook on merchant ships, so always traveling. He misses his father so much and feels like a stranger, but he tries to minimize his pain by repeating himself “chissene” (whatever). During a sunny afternoon he runs into his classmates Giangi Gum and Benny Rospo, two bullies who challenge him. They propose him to cross the pond in the woods with a single long jump on a skateboard or deliver his precious shark tooth pendant, a father’ s gift. Manuel accepts the challenge, but he knows it’s a gamble and he won’ t be able to do it. Thankfully his fathers, a former skateboard champion, returns from one of his trips to spend a few days with him.
