In 1271, at just 17 years old, Marco Polo sailed from Venice to embark on an adventurous journey, a cross deserts and mountains, which took him to the court of Kublai Kan. He returned to Venice after abour 25 years. The account of his trip is known as The Travels of Marco Polo. Many eyes had read it and so many hands had rewritten it, until printing was invented centuries later and the book was finally circulated. Each of those ancient copyists had added or removed something, yet – or maybe that\’s why – The Travels of Marco Polo is the greatest book of wonders in the world.

Pino Pace, the author, lives near Turin. He is a qualified photographer and a radio and newspaper journalist, besides being an author of books for children and teenagers.
Michelangelo Rossato, the illustrator, after high school he attended courses at the School of Illustration Ars in the University of Macerata. Currently is working as an illustrator and teaches both children and adults.
